WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WRN) — UW Law School has decided not to participate in the annual US News and World Report ranking of law schools, and the head of the State Bar says it’s a good choice. President Margaret Hickey agrees with the numerous other schools who have dropped out that the rankings did little to attract local students.
“We are hoping from the state bar’s perspective that they are recruiting Wisconsin lawyers, you know, lawyers, citizens from Wisconsin, who will become Wisconsin lawyers and stay in Wisconsin.” said Hickey.
In a statement last month, the head of UW Law School said that they’re focused on helping students join the legal profession at affordable costs. Over 40 other schools have joined the walkout.
