Sheboygan Mayor Ryan Sorenson
Items on tonight’s Sheboygan Common Council agenda paint a picture with some wide contrast. Besides what may be considered the ordinary business such as zoning changes and permits, other items stand out. Among those, Mayor Ryan Sorenson will be giving his “State-of-the-City” address, which typically points out the highlights and achievements of the past year as well as the challenges to come. There will then be a set of hearing to scrutinize the City’s plans for the former Jakum’s Hall property on North 15th Street, which is likely to transition from a commercial property to residential.
Later, the City Clerk will submit a Summons and Complaint connected with the much-publicized actions that eventually removed former City Administrator Todd Wolf from his post last month, and another item from Alderpersons Barb Felde and Roberta Filicky-Peneski that would authorize the hiring of MHW Law Group LLP to defend the City, the Mayor and City Attorney, 8 alderpersons and committee member Mary Lynne Donohue in connection with that federal lawsuit by Wolf.
Tonight’s meeting takes place at 6 p.m. at City Hall and can also be viewed online via live stream.
