
On Wednesday, February 1 st , 2023, Jessie Irene (Grigsby) Reese, loving wife, sister, and aunt
passed away at Meadowview Health Services in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at the age of 76.
Jessie was born September 12 th , 1946, in Chicago, Illinois to Robert Grigsby and Helen
(Arischious) Grigsby, the second youngest of 8 surviving children. As a teenager, Jessie moved
from Chicago to Crivitz, Wisconsin, where most of her family migrated. At the age of 23, Jessie
met her husband, Jerry Reese. They were married April, 17 th , 1970, and resided in Wausaukee,
Wisconsin for 52 years.
Jessie was a homemaker and devoted wife. She had a love for coffee and conversation. Her cat,
Patches and dog, Marley had a special place in her heart. She had great memories playing slots
at the casino with her sister, Gladys. Jessie had a passion for a good deal or a bargain. Life
taught Jessie how to really value a dollar.
Jessie had a smile that was contagious and the ability to light up a room with her never aging
giggle and sense of humor. She truly had a heart of gold with her kindness and giving heart.
Jessie and Jerry moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin in November 2022 to be closer to her sister,
Charlotte and family.
She learned new things such as crafts and playing bingo. Jessie was so proud of the things she
made and the new friendships she developed. She loved going to church on Sundays with her
sister and having family time.
Jessie will be missed greatly, and we are comforted knowing she is at peace with the Lord.
Jessie is survived by her husband Jerry Reese of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; sister Marilyn Gillian of
Crivitz, Wisconsin; brother Harry Grigsby of Chicago, Illinois; sister Bea (Bob) McCarthy of Fort
Wayne, Indiana; sister Charlotte (Jim) Blaha of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and many nieces,
nephews, and greats.
Jessie is proceeded in death by her parents; sister Lois Kahles; brother-in-law Cletus Kahles;
bother Robert Grigsby JR; sister-in-law Mary Grigsby; sister Gladys Schuyler; brother-in-law
Irving Gillian; sister-in-law Delores “June” Grigsby; great niece Hailey Serama; and great
nephew Nicolas Serama.
A special and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Meadowview Health Services for your kindness,
compassion, and great care you gave Jessie.
A gathering, service, and luncheon will be held at Sheboygan Jaycees Quarryview center, 3401
Calumet Drive, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, 53083, on Sunday February 19 th , 2023. Gathering will be
at 11am, service to start at 1pm with Pastor Todd Smith officiating, followed by a luncheon.
