MADISON, WI (WHBL) – Northwestern swept both games against Wisconsin this season – something that hasn’t happened since the 1995-96 season.
The Badgers faltered down the stretch, missing key free-throws and late shots from the floor, falling 54-52 on Sunday night.
Chucky Hepburn led the Badgers with 17 points, but had a key layup attempt blocked down the stretch. Hepburn had one more chance to tilt the game towards the Badgers, but missed a final shot with six seconds left.
The Badgers have now lost five of their last six games. They’re now 13-9 overall and 5-7 in Big Ten play.
Wisconsin plays at Penn State on Wednesday night.
