SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – After Wednesday’s 16 new coronavirus confirmations and a 6.3% positive test return rate, Thursday’s 10 new cases and 5.1% rate could technically qualify as an improvement. Still, a new high of 61 active cases of COVID-19 are found in Sheboygan County, and the Division of Public Health’s Coronavirus Case Dashboard indicates 3 persons are currently hospitalized with the disease (the daily report lists 2). 4 more persons have recovered. A total of 278 cases of COVID-19 have now been tallied in the County. Data from the Wisconsin DHS puts Sheboygan County at a “High” activity level, trending upwards, while our case rate is considered “Moderately High.”
As was the case yesterday, the County Division of Public Health said that the 10 new cases here were not all associated with one cluster, but resulted through contact with existing known positives, and through “community surveillance.”
Wisconsin logged a new daily high number of positive test returns with 754 new cases confirmed, raising the state cumulative total to 33,908. The positive test rate remained essentially flat at 5.7%. Two more persons in Wisconsin died of COVID-19 since Wednesday.
