
Jerry Baird, age 80, of Kohler, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2023.
He was born in Shiocton, WI on September 22, 1942, a son of the late Lewis and Esther (Handscke)
Baird. Following graduation from Shiocton High School, Jerry served in the United States Air Force from
1962-1966.
Jerry worked at Kohler Company for 43 years, starting in 1968 and retiring in 2011.
He was a dedicated member to the Elks Lodge #299 in Sheboygan where he was: Past Elk of the Year,
Past Chaplain, and was a member of the Elks National Foundation. In addition to the Elks Lodge, Jerry
was also a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Kohler, Sheboygan Falls American Legion Post
149, Sheboygan Pine Club, Kohler Volunteer Fire Dept., Kohler Police Athletic League, and was a part-
time Police Officer in Kohler and Elkhart Lake.
Jerry loved frying out, Bud Select, the Green Bay Packers….. AND THE BEARS STILL SUCK.
He is survived by: Three children: Jill Harrington (Special Friend: Jim Krahn), William Baird (Special
Friend: Mandy Sprenger), and Skeeter (Eric) Fahser; Six grandchildren: Amber (Oscar) Gatica, Josh (Abby)
Barta, Brittany Harrington, Dylan Baird, Skyler Fahser, and Tanner Fahser; Five great-grandchildren;
Sister, Sally Holz; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by: His parents; Daughter, Penny Baird; Great-granddaughter, Desirae
Barta; Siblings: Lois (Lawrence) Klug, Judy Plach, and Patsy Baird; and Brother-in-law, Carl Holz.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (February 4, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 10:00am-1:00pm. A service by the Elks National Foundation and Rev. Beth
Petzke will begin at 1:00pm. Immediately following the services at the funeral home, committal services
will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler with military rites being accorded by the Sheboygan Falls
American Legion Post 149, and a celebration at the Elks Lodge in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Jerry’s name to Children with Cancer of Sheboygan
County.

wonderful care and compassion given to Jerry.
