Lorraine M. Huibregtse was born to eternal life on Monday December 5, 2022, at
Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 93 years old.
Lorraine was born February 14, 1929, in Cedar Grove, the daughter of William and
Lena (nee Dana) Schreurs. She grew up in Cedar Grove, graduating from Cedar
Grove High School in 1947.
On April 20, 1951, she was united in marriage to Samuel Huibregtse Jr. at First
Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. The couple made their home on their family
farm outside of Cedar Grove where Lorraine raised their three children. Sam
preceded her in death on April 6, 2016.
A lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, Lorraine had taught
Sunday School and been involved with the Ladies Aid, choir, VBS and the funeral
committee. She was also a member of the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau and a
volunteer with the Holland Guild. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking,
baking, playing dominoes, camping, traveling and spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Dennis Huibregtse of Cedar Grove, Judith
(Mark) O’Connell of Cedar Grove, and Joy (Brian) Veldboom of Neenah;
grandchildren, Andria (Brian) Peterson, Molly Link, Ashley (Troy) Vandermause,
and Kaylee (Mark) Frazier; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Lane , and Oliver
Peterson, Carter, Emmalin, and Garrison Vandermause, and Reagan and Finnley
Frazier. She is further survived by sister-in-law LaVerne Schreurs; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; great-grandson Aiden
Vandermause; sisters, Hazel (Warren) Navis, Alma (Donald) Heser, and Arlene
(Ernest) DeMaster, and brother Myron Schreurs.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 12, 2022, at First
Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Pastor Brad Bradford officiating. The family
will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of
service at 11:00 am. Lorraine will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery beside
Sam.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions can be made to the Lorraine
Huibregtse Memorial Fund.

Gardens for their kind and compassionate care of Lorraine over the past seven
years.
