NEW YORK (Reuters) – Richard Donoghue, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, is leaving his position for a high-ranking job at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, a spokesman for Donoghue’s office said on Thursday.
Donoghue will become principal associate deputy attorney general, reporting to Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen.
The change follows the June 20 ouster of Geoffrey Berman as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
