Myron Clayton LaPean, age 90, passed away on Monday (October 31, 2022) at St. Nicholas Hospital in
Sheboygan.
He was born in Sheboygan on September 17, 1932, a son of the late Lyle and Rosella (Carriveau) LaPean.
Myron attended Sheboygan grade schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1951.
On September 10, 1952, he married Annette Hoffmann at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
Myron served in the US Air Force from April 15, 1953 – April 25, 1956. He served with the 3920 th Air
Police in England, and received the National Defense Service Medal for his service during the Korean
Conflict.
He worked as a tool and die maker for Vollrath Company for many years, retiring in December 1994.
Myron was a man of strong-faith. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth,
singing in the choir for many years.
He was a nature enthusiast, spending many hours hunting, fishing, hiking, and outdoor photography.
Some of his photos were printed in Wyoming wildlife magazines. Myron gave many wildlife and flora
slide presentations from his photographic journey and backpacking in the Wind River Mountains in
Wyoming. He also gave Wisconsin bird presentations through the Audobon Society and also at UW
Sheboygan and Terry Andrae State Park.
Myron is survived by: His wife: Annette; Children: Michael (Diane Cornine) LaPean of Hawaii, Mark (Jody
Zimmermann) LaPean of Sheboygan Falls, David LaPean of Sheboygan Falls, and Daniel (Margie Turba)
LaPean of Sheboygan Falls; Grandchildren: Thomas Joseph (Leilani) LaPean, Timothy (Kari) LaPean,
Matthew (Samantha) LaPean, Michelle (Hans) VanKoningsveld, Joshua LaPean, Jordan LaPean, and
Alisha (Trevor) Riesterer; Great Grandchildren: Damian, Maverick, Wyatt, Reid, Marley, and Drake
LaPean, Luke Hackney, Ezekiel, Andrew, and Isaiah VanKoningsveld.
He is further survived by: His sister: Arlene Ronspies (Don) Kiefer; Sister-in-law: Phyllis Smith; Nieces: Joy
Ronspies (Joel) Soerens and Carla Ronspies (Philip) Duket; and Nephew-in-law: Brian Schachel.
Myron was preceded in death by: His parents; Brothers-in-law: John (Carol) Hoffmann, Gerald
Hoffmann, Gene Smith, and Don Ronspies; and Niece: Lori Ronspies Schachel.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday (November 7, 2022) at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in
Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00am, with Mass to follow at 11:00am with Fr. Philip
Reifenberg officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan.
Mass will be live-streamed and available to watch through the Church website, www.sjbplymouth.org.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Myron’s name.
