James M. Post, age 84, of Green Bay, formerly of Sheboygan, died on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born in Sheboygan on October 2, 1938, the son of the late Clyde and Henrietta Lauz Post.
James attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1957. He was a mechanic at Wigwam Mills for 35 years, retiring in 2003. On June 29, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary D. Koepke at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Mary preceded him in death on February 23, 2020. He was a current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was on the Stewardship Committee and the Lutheran Braille Workers.
Survivors include his son, Greg (Mary) Post, of Green Bay; daughter-in-law, Michelle Post, of Delevan; grandchildren, James Michael Post, Liz (Drew) Groove, and Danielle (David III) Willis; great-grandchildren, Damion, Dominic, and Oliva Groove, Daelynn Willis, and David Willis IV; his sister, Jean (Shorty) Maxwell, of Herrford, TX; a brother, Thomas (Ann) Post, of Sheboygan; sisters-in-law, Diane Post, of Plymouth, and Judy Post, of Sheboygan. James is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeff Post, a sister, Janice Brown, two brothers, Clyde Post Jr., and Robert Post, and special friends, Eddie Beeck and Butch Handrow.
A funeral service for James will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery Mausoleum.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Brookview Meadows Assisted Living and Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay for the compassion and care that was given to James. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
