The first death attributed to COVID-19 in Sheboygan County since September 9th was reported today in the weekly update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
The most recent casualty was a resident at least 80 years old, and becomes the 282nd to die of COVID-19 from Sheboygan County during the pandemic.
Of the deceased, one was between 10 and 19 years old, one was in their 20s, six were in their 30s, nine were in their 40s, twenty-two were in their 50s, forty-six were in their 60s, seventy-four were in their 70s and one-hundred-twenty-three were at least 80 years old.
Since last Friday, 82 more cases of the coronavirus were recorded in Sheboygan County, raising the total to 33,538. Nine persons are currently hospitalized, a number stable since last week, but the total individuals ever needing hospitalization for COVID-19 rose by two to 1,329.
The Community Transmission Level in Sheboygan County was “Low” according to CDC data updated on Thursday. There were 109.24 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 persons in the past 7 days, compared to 116.18 the previous week. New COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100,000 persons dropped from 6.5 previously to 4.1 this past week, and the 7-day average percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients dropped from 4.2% to 2.5%.
