Eldon E. “Butch” Priebe, 79, of, Oostburg, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at St. Nicholas
Hospital in Sheboygan. He was born October 29, 1942, in Appleton to the late Eldred and Leola
(Schaefer) Priebe. Eldon graduated from Hilbert High School with the Class of 1960.
On April 11, 1964, he was united in marriage to Gloria Schumacher at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in
Hilbert. Together they raised three children: Connie (Mike) Mallmann of Manitowoc, Kelly (Craig
Ehringer) Reeves of Oostburg, and Steve (Mandy) Priebe of Howards Grove. Gloria preceded him in
death on December 5, 2009.
Eldon worked for the Kohler Company in the pottery division retiring in 2007 after 44 years.
Music was a big part of Eldon’s life. He was in a Polka Band the Eldon Priebe Orchestra with his brother
Harley. Eldon played the accordion and Harley played the drums. Love of the outdoors was evident in
the time he spent mowing his lawn, driving big equipment, snowmobiling, and spending time Up North
at the cabin. He enjoyed traveling, vintage cars, going to cars shows, and watching the stock cars races
in Plymouth. His passion was his family, Eldon loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and
activities. Spending time with family creating lasting memories was his favorite pastime.
Eldon is further survived by his grandchildren; Mandy (Mike) Fitzl, Mike (Shelby) Lisowe, Matt Lisowe,
Kayla (Adam) Teaff, and Ava and Chase Priebe, by eight great-grandchildren; Evelyn and Freya Fitzl,
Isabella and Magnolia Lisowe, Riley and Natalia Lisowe, Maya Reeves and Hayden Teaff, his brother
Harley Priebe, and special friend Dianne Gould. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents and wife Gloria.
A memorial service will he held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 6:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran
Church, 6522 S. Business Dr., Sheboygan, with Rev. Shane Cota officiating. If you are unable to join the
family for Eldon’s service, it will be live streamed on his obituary page on the funeral home website.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 4:00 PM until
6:00 PM at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Eldon’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital the Fourth Floor and ICU nurses and
doctors, for their care, compassion and support.
