Marceline “Marcy” J. Werthmann, age 75, 2022, passed away at her home on August 26, 2022.
Marcy was born on August 29, 1946, to Wesley and Dorothy (Burkhardt) Werthmann. She was
baptized at her parents' home and confirmed at Immanuel UCC. Marcy attended Champion
Grade School and graduated from Howards Grove High School with the class of 1964 and
served as the senior class treasurer.
After high school, Marcy began her career working as an Admissions Assistant for Lakeland
College. She was a very dedicated worker at Lakeland for more than 47 years and greatly
enjoyed her time there. She was a very loving and dedicated daughter, caring for her mother,
Dorothy, in her later years.
Marcy was an avid book reader. After retirement, she greatly enjoyed visiting with her high
school friends monthly. Marcy loved to spend as much time with her family as she could
whenever they would get together.
Marcy is survived by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Werthmann; aunt, Valeta Burkhardt; nieces,
Rachel (Sean) Moderson, Mackenzie Moderson, Layla Moderson, Rebecca Werthmann, Amy
(Ryan) Devine; nephews, Eric (Vinita) Roehl, Nathan (Megan) Roehl cousins, Diane (David)
Johnson, Darlajean (Gary) Spielman, Doreen Schweitzer, Lori (Bill) Hartman, Randy (Myra)
Burkhardt, Jeff Burkhardt, Michael Burkhardt, Sandy Burkhardt, Wendy (David) Estes, Harold
Jr. (Lisa) Burkhardt, Ervin Burkhardt, and Fr. Alan Burkhardt; and many other relatives and
friends.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Dorothy Werthmann; brother, Rev.
Lloyd Werthmann; aunt and uncles, Jeanette (David) Raeder, Arvin (Helen) Burkhardt, Ezra
Burkhardt, Lester (Mary Ann) Burkhardt, Harold Burkhardt Sr.; and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Marcy at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 7 th , 2022, at
Zimmer-Westview Funeral Home with Pastor Tina Kieckhafer officiating. A public visitation
will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Marcy’s name.
Marcy’s family would like to thank her neighbors for their care, concern, and the support that
they had offered her over the years. They would also like to thank Kathy Roehl for her many
years of friendship.
