Eileen K. (Schuette) Meyer, age 92, went home to her final reward of eternal life, bought and prepared for her by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Aug. 24, 2022.
Eileen was born March 24, 1930, in Sheboygan, to Walter and Irene (Biederwolf) Schuette.
Her education began attending kindergarten at Franklin School in Sheboygan, elementary grades at Mapledale and graduated from Sheboygan Central High in 1948.
On August 21, 1948, Eileen and Elwood Meyer were married at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. They lived in the Cedar Grove area, moving back to Sheboygan in 1981.
Eileen spent many working hours at Lake Church Leather Products, retiring from Allen-Edmonds Shoe Corp. in 1995.
She loved music with a passion, especially sacred music, directing the church choir. She also sang with Sound Celebration, the area Barbershop Chorus for several years.
Many were comforted by the quilts she gave to family and friends. She worked with her church quilting group, donating many quilts to Lutheran World Relief and the Salvation Army Shelter. She also constructed hats for Stitches of Love, that are donated to chemotherapy patients. Through the years, Eileen participated in many areas in the work of her church, especially the LWML.
Eileen is survived by her children; Barbara (Larry) Veldboom, Ron (Diane)Meyer, Kathy (Paul) Schuessler, LeAnn (Rodell) Davis, Jonathan (Sandra) Meyer; her brothers Richard (Lolita) & Tom (Diane) Schuette; her sisters-in-law Mary & Judie Schuette. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elwood, her daughter Diane, infant sisters and brother; Edith, Marian, and Frederick Schuette, infant great-grandson Thomas Shallue, her brothers Ken, Robert, and James Schuette.
A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held Wednesday, August 31, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church Town Wilson with a time of visitation and support Tuesday, August 30th from 4-7:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Eileen’s name for Trinity-Town Wilson and Sheboygan Lutheran High.
