PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – It was an off-night for Corbin Burnes as the Milwaukee Brewers dropped a a 5-3 game with the Pirates Tuesday night at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. With the win, the Pirates snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Burnes walked five batters for the first time in his career and gave up four runs in 5.1 innings.
The Brewers took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 6th inning on solo homers from Willy Adames, Rowdy Tellez and Kolten Wong but the Pirates responded, scoring five runs in their half of the inning.
The Brewers also lost a game in the standings as the Cardinals won on Tuesday. Milwaukee now leads St. Louis by two games.
Freddy Peralta returns to the mound for the Brewers Wednesday night as they face the Pirates again. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 5:30.
