MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers won a 10 inning thriller on Monday as Victor Caratini hit a walk-off three run homer in a 5-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field.
Caratini’s blast came after he struck out in the previous four at-bats.
Chicago had taken a 2-1 lead on a Seiya Suzuki inside-the-park-homer off Josh Hader in the 9th inning. The Brewers evened the score in their half of the ninth on a bases-loaded walk to Christian Yelich.
In the 10th Brad Boxberger worked out of a bases loaded jam to set up Caratini’s heroics. Boxberger picked up the win. Eric Lauer started and went six innings. giving up one run with nine strikeouts and two walks.
The Brewers are now 47-35 and added another game to their lead in the Central Division when the Cardinals lost to Atlanta on Monday night.
