Edward John DePagter, 79 of Oostburg passed away at home Sunday June 19, 2022 from heart disease. Ed was born September 14, 1942 at home in the Town of Holland to Edgar and Cora (DenBoer) DePagter. He attended Oostburg Area Schools. He was a member of Bethel O.P. Church in Oostburg.
On January 5, 1962 he married Judith (Judy) Wilterdink. He started farming at the age of 16 and farmed his entire life in the Town of Wilson. He enjoyed driving red tractors, but green tractors were OK. He spent many afternoons and evenings taking “slow farm rides” checking out the countryside. He liked cheering on the Brewers, Badgers and Brett Farve, talking to his grandkids and great grandkids. Small things in life made him happy, like eating a cheeseburger at Mary’s Country Grove.
He is survived by his wife Judy of 60 years. His children, Joel (Kay) DePagter, Brenda (Jeremie) Jensema and Peter (Ann) DePagter. 9 grandchildren, Jacob (Molly) DePagter, Nathan (Jamie) DePagter, Jessica (Tom) DeGroff, Kacy DePagter, Matt (Jen) TenHaken, Jamie Jensema, Jesse Jensema, Alex DePagter and Adrian DePagter. 10 great grandchildren – Brynn, Hadley, Bennett, Blake, Hannah, Leah, Ryker, Alya, Hank and Oliver, nephews, cousins and other family members. Sister, Nancy Born. Brother, Rick (Melise) DePagter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Ginny DePagter and a brother-in-law Robert Born and 2 great grandchildren, Aaron and Andie.
A private celebration of Ed’s life will be held. A livestream of the service can be found by visiting Ed’s obituary page on www.wenigfh.com on Thursday, June 23 at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice or the local church channel 14 – Video Ministry which Ed enjoyed watching.
