NEW YORK, NY (WHBL) – The New York Mets rallied from a 4-1 deficit and beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Thursday night at Citi-Field.
Christian Yelich homered as the Brewers put four runs on the board in the 4th inning. Omar Narvaez drove in two runs and Hunter Renfroe added an RBI.
The Mets got one back in their half of the 4th and then tied the game on a two-run homer from Mark Canha in the fifth off Aaron Ashby.
Ashby left the game after a trainers visit . The Brewers called the move “precautionary.”
A throwing error in the 8th inning from Rowdy Tellez led to the Mets scoring the eventual game-winning run off Brent Suter.
Milwaukee, now 35-30, head to Cincinnati for a weekend series beginning Friday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 5:05.
