After enjoying an extended period of low activity, newly-released COVID-19 data from the Centers for Disease Control has Sheboygan County experiencing a “Medium” level of community transmission.
Manitowoc and Calumet are the only neighboring counties remaining low, while Ozaukee and Washington Counties have reached a high level of activity.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that Sheboygan County residents stay up to date with vaccinations and if symptoms appear, get tested and wear a mask. Those with no symptoms or at high risk may choose to mask up as a precaution.
The CDC says that Sheboygan County has a case rate of 204.61 per 100,000 population, a new hospital admission rate of 8.6 per 100,000, and 3.4% of inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients.
