The Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys, led by former Packer coach Mike McCarthy on Sunday, November 13 at Lambeau Field. The NFL released what will be a highly anticipated matchup on the Fox Network which will carry the game with a 3:25 PM kickoff.
McCarthy took the Packers to the Super Bowl XLV title following the 2010 season. His teams won six division titles and made the playoffs 9 times in his 13 years in Green Bay. He was fired with four games left in the 2018 season after Green Bay lost at home to Arizona and was destined to miss the playoffs for a second straight season that year. He was replaced on an interim basis by his offensive coordinator Joe Philbin who guided the team over the final month.
Green Bay replaced McCarthy with Matt LaFleur who has led the Packers to three straight division championships and two trips to the NFC Championship game. He has a regular season record of 39-10 and is 2-3 in post-season play.
After taking a year off, McCarthy was hired by the Cowboys in 2020, going 6-10 and 12-5 in his first two seasons, winning the NFC East last year before falling at home in the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round. The 49ers eliminated the Packers at Lambeau Field the following week.
This is the second game of the 2022 schedule that has been announced. The Packers will face the New York Giants in their first ever trip to London, playing the game on October 9 at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
The rest of the league schedule is set to be released on Thursday night.
