ATLANTA, GA (WHBL) – For just the second time this season the Milwaukee Brewers have lost a series.
The Atlanta Braves scored nine runs between the second and fifth innings in a 9-2 win on Sunday to take the weekend series. Milwaukee was held to just four hits in the game – all singles.
Mike Brosseau provided an RBI single and Christian Yelich grounded into a double play, which scored Kolten Wong. Both of those plays came in the 8th for the Crew.
Aaron Ashby took the loss. In four innings of work he allowed six hits and six runs while issuing four walks. Charlie Morton went five innings for Atlanta to secure the win.
Despite the loss, the Brewers maintain the NL Central lead at 19-10.
The Brewers last lost a series on opening weekend against the Cubs. They’re back on the road Monday for a three-game series against Cincinnati. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 5:05.
