Home ownership has been called “The American Dream”, although it’s one that has become harder to achieve with rising prices and low inventories. The Wisconsin Realtor’s Association says that the median home price in Sheboygan County has risen almost $10,000 in the last year, reaching over $202,000 in March.
Qualifying for that needed mortgage can be a challenge, but Consumer Credit Counseling Service hopes to make it easier through their free Home Ownership Class on Saturday, May 14th from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Mead Public Library. Prospective homebuyers will learn everything they need to know about buying that dream home, and will be provided with a resource manual, lunch, and a certificate of completion that should help secure that dream.
With funding from a City of Sheboygan Community Development Block Grant and from Union Home Mortgage – The Wiltzius Team, there’s no charge, but enrollment is limited. You can apply through next Monday by calling Consumer Credit Counseling Service at 800-350-CCCS (2227).
