While you may not have felt many warm breezes of spring, you can be assured that it’s here by the increasing population of orange construction barrels popping up on area roadways, and two more projects will need drivers’ attention beginning next week.
Beginning Monday, Geele Avenue between North Taylor Drive and North 38th Street will be closed to through traffic at various times. Monday’s closure will allow for removal of the existing pavement and should be a one-day affair. Placement of the new asphalt pavement will require a future road closure, but no date is set at this time. Traffic will detour using North Taylor Drive, Saemann Avenue, and North 38th Street. That project will wrap up in July.
The second project begins next Wednesday when South 12th Place between Camelot Boulevard and Castle Avenue is closed to through traffic at various times. Again, existing pavement will be removed during the two-day closure, with emplacement of new pavement still to be scheduled. That project should be complete in late May.
