Motorists using I-43 in Manitowoc County this week are likely to encounter construction-related issues, although the most significant will be during overnight hours.
The Wisconsin DOT advises that northbound I-43 will be closed between US 10 and Manitowoc County Highway “V” between 7 this Monday evening and 6 a.m. Tuesday so crews may remove a portion of the Rockwood Road bridge. Southbound traffic on that same stretch will be affected during the same hours overnight on Tuesday.
Traffic in both cases will be diverted using Highway “V” at the north end of that construction zone and Wisconsin 310 at the south, using County Highway “R” in between.
Also, the I-43/County “K” interchange east of Kellnersville will be closed entirely Monday through Friday this week for concrete base patching. Motorists will be using Highway “V” to the south or Highway 147 to the north to bypass that closure, again using Highway “R”.
