MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Tyrone Taylor’s 2 RBI double in the 7th inning gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 6-3 lead on their way to a 6-5 win on Sunday to secure a four-game series split with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Taylor finished 2 for 4 on the day with 2 RBI. Andrew McCutchen finished 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Willy Adames was 1 for 3 with a double and two walks. He also recorded an RBI and a run scored.
Aaron Ashby got the start but didn’t factor in the decision after allowing three unearned runs in four innings. The win went to Jake Cousins in relief after he pitched a scoreless 5th.
A quartet of Brewers relievers then teamed up to allow just two hits and two runs over the next three innings. Josh Hader recorded his 100th career save with two strikeouts in the 9th. It was his 4th save of the season.
Milwaukee evens their record at 5-5 with the win. St. Louis falls to 5-3.
