A head-on crash on Wednesday morning has claimed the life of one person, and another is hospitalized in Milwaukee with significant injuries.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office reports that calls of the accident were received around 5:43 a.m. on Wednesday, sending multiple responders – including two Jaws of Life responders and the Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Team – to the scene west of Meadowlark Road on County Highway “J” in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, westbound on Highway “J”, crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2016 Mazda CX-5 head on. The driver of the Equinox, a 51-year old female, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mazda was transported to a Milwaukee area hospital with significant injuries.
The names of those involved will be released after 10 a.m on Thursday, April 14th.
