Christine Kowalewski, age 86, died at Pine Haven assisted-living facility on Friday, March 18, 2022.
Christine was born in Utica, New York on January 11, 1936 to the late Edward and Helen Zeszutko. She graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1955 and then attended Utica College. She was united in marriage to Joseph Grzywacz on November 30, 1956 in Utica, New York.
Christine was the Director of the West Side Senior Center in Utica, New York until relocating to Wisconsin to be closer to her grandchildren in 1995. She worked for Sheboygan Senior Community until age 82 as a music therapist.
Christine greatly enjoyed musical activities. She was a member of the Utica Opera Guild, Utica Chorale, multiple church choirs, Sheboygan Symphony Choir, Carolers from the Sheboygan Symphony Chorus, Director of Friendly Voices at Sheboygan Senior Community. As a young woman she learned to sing in many languages and studied voice and piano. She was a volunteer for a number of years at The Gathering Place.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Nicholson (James), son, Mark Grzywacz (Natalie; grandchildren, Julianne Roznik (Konrad) Zachary Nicholson and Lea Grzywacz; and two great-grandchildren Hadley and Delaney Roznik.
There will be visitation on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 730 Cty Hwy PPP, Sheboygan Falls, followed by a 2:00 P.M. Memorial Service.
The family would like to thank the Pine Haven staff for all their support over the last several years.
