Data posted for 2022 so far indicates that the Coronavirus Pandemic is again receding in Sheboygan County. Although active cases remain above the minimum experienced in 2021, when 23 cases were last seen on July 16, the 121 currently active cases are the lowest since the 117 of August 2, 2021. The intensity of the pandemic has been steadily declining since the beginning of the year.
The currently active case count comes as a revision in total cases on Friday removed two cases from the total, which is now at 29,300. Along with 12 recoveries this resulted in 14 fewer active cases than on Thursday.
1,202 persons have needed hospitalization at some point, and with an increase of one in the current patient count to 4, this would indicate that one person previously admitted had to be re-hospitalized.
21 more persons have received their first dose of vaccine since Thursday, raising that total to 72,376, or 62.8% of the county population. Another 19 received their 2nd dose, that number now reaching 69,286, or 60.1%. 32.5%, or 37,466, have received boosters, a gain of 36 since Thursday.
