James M. Roitt, 65, of Plymouth passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 as a result of injuries
sustained in an automobile accident.
Jim was born on October 23, 1956, as the eldest son of Delbert and Joanne (Krueger) Roitt of Plymouth.
He grew up in rural Plymouth on the family farm and graduated from Plymouth High School, Class of
1974. On February 21, 1976, in the blizzard of ’76, he married the love of his life, Deborah Burkart.
They then bought a farm in the “Holy Land” and started their family. During that time, he also was a
volunteer with the Glenbeulah Fire Department. After their children grew, they resettled back to the
Plymouth area. He currently was employed with Furniture Products in Fredonia as a welder/fabricator.
In 2008, Jim was diagnosed with cancer and conquered it by 2009. Shortly after in 2013, he was
diagnosed with congestive heart failure. With Jim’s determination and strength, he was able to fight
anything that tried to come in his way.
Jim loved being outdoors whether it was farming, tinkering in his shed, or gardening with Deb. He
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in every way he could. He was the
first to volunteer his time to help his friends and family with any task that needed to be done. He always
had a smile on his face and a funny story to lighten the mood.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deb; his four beloved daughters, Jessica (Jason) Colton of
Oshkosh, Jacquelynn Voss of Oshkosh, Crystal (Nick) Uebelher of De Pere and Jamie (Chad) Sesing of
Plymouth; his seven rambunctious grandchildren, Jadon Colton, Evelynn and Elena Voss and Greta,
Addison, Daphne and Glenroy Sesing; his mother, Joanne Roitt of Plymouth; his brothers, Dennis (Lynn)
Roitt and Thomas (Kitty) Roitt; his sister, Nancy Lawrence (Ron Melzer) and other beloved brothers and
sisters in law. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends. He was
preceded in death by his father, Delbert Roitt, his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Helena Burkart
and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Jim will be held at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service in Plymouth on
Tuesday, March 1 at 7:00 pm with Joseph Zenk, Pastoral Minister officiating. Burial will be in St. John
the Baptist Cemetery in Plymouth. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South
Street, Plymouth on Tuesday from 4:30 pm until the time of service at 7 pm.
Memorials in Jim’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Jim’s family would like to thank all those who came to his aide on Thursday especially the Sheboygan
County Sheriffs Department, Orange Cross and Random Lake Fire and Jaws. Your compassion and
kindness will be remembered.
