Leon Earl Kloppenburg, 82, died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
He was born on December 24, 1939 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Earl and
Marion (Devriend) Kloppenburg.
Leon graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School and he served in the United States
Navy.
He was united in marriage to Karen Kison in 1961 and together they had 2 children.
Leon was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. He loved his
family and will be greatly missed.
Leon is survived by: His loving wife of 61 years: Karen Kloppenburg; His daughter: Faye
(Brian) Hartmann; His son: Paul (Jodi) Kloppenburg; 2 granddaughters: Cassie and
Megan; 2 step granddaughters: Ashley and Corinne; 2 step great-grandchildren:
Bentley and Haylie; and 4 siblings: Marsha Brager, Karen (Bob) Habeck, Holly (Alan)
Wartke and Leanna (Brett) Mittlestaedt.
He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Christopher.
A celebration of Leon’s life will be held on Saturday (February 26, 2022) from 1:00-
3:00PM at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.
Memorials are suggested in Leon’s name to the Elkhart Lake First Responders.
