A 31-year-old Manitowoc man will be spending the next 7 years in prison after a drug conviction.
Stephen S. Vice Jr. received the sentence in federal court after the Manitowoc Metro Drug Unit partnered with the United State’s Attorney’s Eastern District of Wisconsin Office to prosecute local subjects responsible for significant local drug distribution.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig said Vice Jr. was investigated in June and July of 2021 as he distributed drugs in Manitowoc County. Investigators made controlled purchases and eventually seized some 27 grams of fentanyl and 120 grams of methamphetamine at a Two Rivers hotel.
Vice Jr., who had received repeated lenient sentences for previous offenses – despite a lengthy criminal record – was given 7 years in federal prison by Senior U.S. District Judge William Griesbach, to be followed by another 7 years of supervised release.
