The fifth death attributed to COVID-19 during the week so far was reported on Thursday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. The casualty was a Sheboygan County resident in their 70s. A total of 242 persons in Sheboygan County have died of a coronavirus infection so far during the pandemic. By age group, one-hundred-twelve were at least 80 years old, sixty were in their 70s, thirty-eight were in their 60s, sixteen were in their 50s, nine were in their 40s, six were in their 30s, and one was between 10 and 19 years old.
Another 31 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last day, while 246 persons entered the recovered list. The number of active cases fell by 217 to 1,790, and there have been a total of 29,063 cases recorded here.
One new coronavirus patient was admitted for hospital treatment in the last day, while the current patient count increased by 2 to 11.
The level of community transmission dropped by 11.27 points to 343.33 per 100,000 persons. The percent of tests coming back positive dropped three-tenths of a percent to 9.61%.
Vaccinations continue at a slow pace. 44 more persons received their first vaccination, raising that county total to 72,023, or 62.5%. Those completing their vaccinations increased by 52 to 68,615, or 59.5%.
In Thursday’s “weekly update”, the Sheboygan County DPH announced that the Curative test site at the ADRC on Forest Avenue in Sheboygan Falls will be closed on Monday, February 21, for Presidents Day.
