Lori A. Schmitz, age 60, of Plymouth, WI, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 13,
2022 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.
She was born on November 6, 1961 in Chilton, WI, a daughter of Ronald Freund and the late Elizabeth
“Betty” (Hoffmann) Freund.
Lori attended New Holstein Grade Schools and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1980.
Lori worked at the Kohler Company for 38 years.
She is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake and loved spending time with
her family and friends.
Survivors include: Three Sons: Ryan, Kurt and Adam Schmitz all of Plymouth, Her father and
stepmother: Ronald (Marian) Freund of St. Cloud, four brothers: Randy (Debbie) Freund of Mount
Calvary, Joe Freund of Mount Calvary, Rick Freund of Johnsburg and Wayne (Becky) Freund of Beaver
Dam, One sister: Sherri (Dean) Vanderhoof of Mount Calvary, also by many nieces, nephews, great
nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother: Elizabeth “Betty” Freund and Two brothers: Russ and
Jeff Freund.
Following Lori’s wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at
the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, will officiate. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the summer of 2022.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name for the Sharon S. Richardson
Hospice Center or Kathy’s House.
