A series of winter storms across the U.S. are the latest factor that’s making an already lean supply of blood for emergency needs even leaner.
So far this year over 500 blood drives have had to be cancelled due to weather, dealing a tough blow to the national blood supply, which according to the American Red Cross has been at crisis levels since early January.
Incentives to give blood are being offered to donors now through the end of February in the form of a $10 Amazon Gift Card via email, thanks to Amazon.
