Absentee Ballot
Absentee voting in advance of Tuesday’s Spring Primary Election in Sheboygan County is being used far less than last year according to data from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
As of Wednesday, 217 applications for absentee ballots had been received in Sheboygan County. That compares with over 6200 (6,232) requested in February of 2021. The WEC didn’t say why levels were lower this year, but the heightened attention to COVID last year was credited with pushing up totals in ‘21.
Of the 212 ballots sent out in Sheboygan County, 83, or just over 39% have so far been returned. During last year’s Spring Primary about 60% of the 6,280 ballots sent out were eventually returned.
