Two Sheboygan entrepreneurs have launched a new beverage business that will offer a new twist on a Wisconsin classic – the Old-Fashioned. The product, called “Drinkin’ Buds”, is a powdered, pre-mixed drink developed by Justin Hopf and Matt Swanson with help from the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, and the Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay. And while you add the alcohol to complete the Old-Fashioned, they’ve added something else…the cannabis product CBD. Hopf said that they’re passionate about breaking down the barriers for everyday people to enjoy the benefits of CBD at their favorite restaurant or in their own home.
The two credit SCEDC business counselor Ray York with helping to develop their product and to connect them with the resources needed to make Drinkin’ Buds a reality in Sheboygan County.
The store, which also offers a Margarita mix, a CBD-free Old-Fashioned mix along with party packs and merchandise, operates online. But with help from the SCEDC and SBDC, Hopf and Swanson hope to have their product on the shelves of local and national grocery stores as well.
