All signs point to an ever-increasing spread of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County as activity levels set new high marks for the pandemic.
On Wednesday’s updated Coronavirus Case Dashboard from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, 23,787 total cases have been tallied, with 287 added in the last day. 2,787 cases are now active, up 133 from Tuesday, representing the highest number so far during the pandemic which began here in March of 2020. 45 persons are currently hospitalized in Sheboygan County with COVID-19, no change from the previous day, and 1,089 county residents in all have required treatment in hospitals.
Sheboygan County’s “Level of Community Transmission” is considered “High”, with 1,610 cases per 100,000 residents, up 653.7 since Tuesday. The percent of tests returning positive for the coronavirus has increased 0.7% from Tuesday, now reaching 31.07%.
Every county in Wisconsin is now at a “Critically High” Case Activity level. Sheboygan County is experiencing a “Burden”, or total number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population in the past two weeks, of 2,559. That compares with a statewide burden of 2,490.0. Sheboygan County also has an upward trajectory of 90%, which represents the percent case change from the previous to the current week. As a state, Wisconsin’s trajectory is upwards at 36%.
At least one dose of vaccine has now been received by 70,670 persons, or 61.3% of the county population, while 66,690, or 57.9%, are fully vaccinated. Those numbers increased by 139 and 102 respectively in the last day.
