Mark D. Makowski, 72, of the town of Sherman passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Aurora
Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Mark was born on December 8, 1949 in Milwaukee, a son to the late David and Lucille (Kohls) Makowski.
He attended schools in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School in 1969. He served in the
U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage to Diana Shulfer.
Mark had a well rounded education, attaining a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and
Associates Degrees in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Photography and General Education. He had been the
plant manager at Hi-Lite Manufacturing in Sheboygan. Mark enjoyed his life in the country with his
family.
Mark was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Russell W. Mulder American Legion
Post 462 in Adell. He had previously served on the advisory boards at Lakeshore Technical College.
Mark is survived by his wife, Diana, his daughters, Tracy Makowski and Tammy Makowski, both of
Plymouth; his five grandchildren, Devin Gore, Tyler Girard, Desiree Gore, Tiffany Girard and Chance Blas;
a brother, Scott (Beverly) Makowski of Menomonee Falls and his mother-in-law, Lorraine Shulfer of
Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Daniel Shulfer of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Debra (Niel) Reseburg of Kiel;
and his nephews Robert, Richard, Ryan and Randy Reseburg Other relatives and friends also survive.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Shulfer.
A funeral service for Mark will be held Wednesday, January 12 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation
Service with Rev. Philip Reifenberg officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth,
with military rites accorded. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South Street,
Plymouth on Wednesday after 5 pm followed by a service at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials in his name are preferred.
Mark’s family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to his family and friends who
provided emotional support through the years.
