(Reuters) – The Miami Heat ruled out guard Jimmy Butler for Wednesday night’s game at Portland with an ankle injury.
Butler suffered the injury in the third quarter of Monday night’s loss at Golden State. Butler crumpled to the ground and had to be helped off the floor. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said afterward that Butler turned his ankle.
Butler exited with 22 points and five rebounds. He’s averaging 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season. However, he has missed 15 games to injury.
The Heat also ruled out KZ Okpala (wrist) against the Blazers. He’s averaging 3.7 points per game in 11.6 minutes per contest.
The Heat are in the midst of a seven-game road trip, though the lid-lifter at San Antonio was postponed. The Heat are 1-2 on the trip with three to go starting Wednesday night.
