
Leo Ehrlich, age 86, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Songbird Pond in Plymouth after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born on October 5, 1935 in Sheboygan, WI, to the late Gustav and Elva (Gutknecht) Ehrlich. Leo was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Haven and was a current member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
He graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1953. Leo helped on the family farm in the Town of Mosel and worked at various factories including Kohler Company, Garton Toy Factory and retired in 2002 from Sheboygan Screw Products after 21 years.
On October 27, 1956, he married Carol Berg. He lived most of their life on the family homestead where he and Carol raised their three children. They later moved to Sheboygan Falls and currently reside in Plymouth. Leo enjoyed many vacations with his wife and traveled extensively throughout the US and especially enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin.
Leo enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many long-time friends. He was an avid sports fan and attended many Packer and Brewer games. He also enjoyed walking, reading, listening to music and playing cards with friends. After retirement, Leo volunteered for Meals on Wheels and drove for Division of Aging.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Carol of Plymouth; three children, Jeffrey Ehrlich of Cedarburg, Judi Ehrlich of Sheboygan, Jill (Michael) Peters of Omro; six grandchildren, Leo, Joan and Fredrick Ehrlich, Jamie and Katie Peters, and Nicole (Spencer) Potratz; brother-in-law, Eugene (Mildred) Berg of Gulf Breeze, FL; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Daniel) Busalacchi of Bonita Springs, FL.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Vera (McCarty) Ehrlich; mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Irene Berg; sister, Delores Steindl; brother-in-law, Jerold (Janice) Berg; and nephew, David Berg.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM. Pastor Kyle Backhaus, Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Leo’s name.
