A fourth death due to COVID-19 this month in Sheboygan County was reported on Wednesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. Three deaths were added on Monday, the 13th.
The most recent casualty was someone at least 80 years old, the 91st in that age demographic and the 180th overall. Forty-three others were in their 70s, twenty-seven were in their 60s, eight were in their 50s, seven in their 40s, three were in their 30s, and one was between 10 and 19 years old.
The number of active cases in the county dropped by seven, as 79 new positives were logged, 85 recovered, and including the latest casualty. 20,216 cases in all have been recorded in Sheboygan County.
30 persons are currently hospitalized, two less than on Tuesday, as two more persons were admitted and one recovered.
The level of community transmission in Sheboygan County remains “High”, with a 136 point advance in the case rate, now up to 632.04 per 100,000 population. The percent of tests positive over the last 7 days was down fractionally to 12.93%.
68,794 county residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, 160 more than Tuesday, and equal to 59.7% of the population. 56.5%, or 65,131, are now fully vaccinated, up 148 since Tuesday.
