Masks are no longer required inside Etude Elementary School. A mandatory masking policy was triggered when more than 5% of the students there had active cases of COVID-19 on November 18th, but by this past Monday only 4% still had the coronavirus, relaxing that rule.
A policy passed in October by the Sheboygan Area School District Board allows optional masking unless 5% of the student body in a building has active COVID-19 cases. A minimum 7-day masking is then imposed. According to Marketing and Communications Coordinator Nicole Sondalle, that order can be extended on a day-by-day basis until cases fall below 5%.
