The number of active cases of COVID-19 has remained nearly steady over the past two days and heading into the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
995 active cases were being monitored on Wednesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, one less than on Tuesday. 69 new positives were offset by 70 recoveries for the one-case drop in actives, and 18,647 cases in all have now been recorded.
7 more persons were hospitalized, while 6 were discharged, expanding the patient population by 1 to a total of 31 currently hospitalized. There have been 943 hospitalizations during the pandemic.
The level of community transmission remains “High”, with a case rate of 534.94 per 100,000 population, virtually unchanged in the last day. The percent of tests returning positive in the past 7 days rose 2.05% compared with Tuesday, to a level of 16.04%.
Facility-Wide Investigations increased significantly since last week, when there were 6 skilled nursing long-term care facilities involved. This week there are 8, those being:

Last week, 33 educational facilities had active investigations. This week that number grew to 40. The school settings involved this week are:
