As has been the case for the past several months, the number of active cases of COVID-19 reported by the Sheboygan Division of Public Health experienced a strong Tuesday rebound, following a Monday decline compared with the close of the previous week.
After declining by 94 cases Monday, 95 were added on Tuesday, raising the active case count to a new high for the year – 996 cases. 165 new positive tests were received since Monday, while 70 persons recovered. 18,578 cases in all have been recorded in Sheboygan County during the pandemic.
While 4 persons were admitted for hospitalization in the last day, another 9 were discharged, leading to a decline of 5 in the patient population, to a total of 30 currently being treated. There have been 936 hospitalizations in all.
There was no revision on Tuesday concerning the level of community transmission (High), case rate (535.81/100,000 persons) or percent of tests positive over the last 7 days (13.99%)
28 more persons in the county received their first shot of vaccine since Monday’s report, raising that total to 66,279 persons, or 57.5% of the population. Another 39 persons became fully vaccinated, raising that total to 63,260, or 54.8% of the county.
