A partial lunar eclipse was visible to much of the world overnight for those who chose to see it.
As the sun, Earth and moon aligned, the moon passed through Earth’s shadow, casting darkness across as much as 97% of the moon. That peak was reached at around 3AM CST.
The photo here was taken at about 4:20 AM as the moon was emerging from that shadow, and was full once again shortly before 5 AM.
