WEST BEND, WI (WHBL) – The latest cougar sighting in Wisconsin is in West Bend. Matt Geldnich says his trail camera caught the large cat on his property last weekend.
Researchers at the Wisconsin DNR confirmed this week that it is, indeed, a cougar. It’s just the latest sighting.
DNR says there’ve been cougar sightings in Waupaca County and Fond du Lac. The DNR can’t rule out that it’s not the same cat.
Cougars are a protected species in Wisconsin, and DNR says people should stay away from the cat if they see it.
