Next year we head to Madison for the World Champion Cheese Contest. Cheesemakers are encouraged to submit entries in one of the 141 dairy product classes on their website through January 26th. This year a few of the new categories are washed rind, sheep’s milk, and cream cheese.
The big event is hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association on a biennial basis and has been growing since it began in 1957. The 2020 contest brought in a record amount of entries with over 3,600 dairy products competing from 26 countries.
There’s a $75 submission fee per product. The contest will be held at Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison March 1st-3rd, 2022.
