SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – In-person commencement ceremonies for the Sheboygan Area School District’s Class of 2020 may be held Saturday, June 20th…or July 25th…or August 15th. It’s also possible that a Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be held on August 16th, according to a release yesterday from Assistant Superintendent Jake Konrath. The letter published on the SASD website explains that it would be impossible to safely commence at Vollrath Bowl on the original June 7th date due to the risk of transmission of COVID-19. The district is, however, committed to hosting graduation “in the bowl” if at all possible.
Saturdays, June 20th, July 25th and August 15th will be considered in that order as conditions dictate, with rain dates on each following Sunday. Decisions on each will be made 2 weeks in advance.
Meanwhile, grads’ pictures will be posted upon request on billboards on South 14th Street and Business Drive beginning June 1st. Details are contained in the letter from the SASD, which you can access at the following link:
