There haven’t been large-scale trends this week, maintaining levels typical of those reached during the first week of October, and on the lower side for the month.
37 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were logged since Tuesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, raising to 16,505 the total number of cases here during the pandemic. With 56 recoveries since Tuesday, the active case count fell by 19 to 706 cases now being monitored.
While 4 persons entered hospitals for treatment of their symptoms, 3 patients were discharged, and the patient population rose by 1 to 13.
The transmission level in Sheboygan County is “high”, with a 7-day average case rate of 167.04 persons per 100,000 population. That’s down significantly from Tuesday’s 319.06. The average daily percent of tests returning positive over the last 7 days was 10.05%, up from Tuesday’s 9.92%.
55.9% of Sheboygan County’s population, or 64,517 persons, have received at least one shot of vaccine as of Wednesday’s report from the State DHS. That’s 42 more than on Tuesday. 61,891 persons, or 53.7% of the county, are fully vaccinated, an increase of 61 since Tuesday.
