SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s total case count of COVID-19 remained at 86 for the third consecutive day as more and more social elements return from isolation following the Memorial Day holiday. Two more persons have recovered, leaving 12 active cases as of Tuesday afternoon, and there are no hospitalizations from the coronavirus.
In Wisconsin, 7,774 persons were tested since midday yesterday, and 279 of those – or 3.6% – were positive for COVID-19. That 3rd consecutive day of decline was enough to set in motion the 14-day downward trajectory of the percent of a day’s tests returning positive. A total of 15,863 cases of COVID-19 have now been tallied in Wisconsin. Three more persons have died, raising the state’s death toll due to coronavirus to 517.
A schedule has now been released by the County Division of Public Health concerning mass testing to be conducted at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. The Wisconsin National Guard will operate the drive-through testing this coming Thursday and Friday from 11 AM till 7 PM, and on Saturday, May 30th from 8-4. The testing is for those ages 5 and older experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as a cough, difficulty breathing, or fever greater than 100.4 degrees. A full list of symptoms is available in the County Health Department’s daily release. No appointment or fee is involved, and up to 400 tests can be conducted each day. The test will indicate whether or not one has an active case of COVID-19, and is not an antibody test that would indicate prior exposure and potential immunity
